The Inn was purchased in 2021 by Tracy & Alex Sutton. They have resided on the North Fork for over 25 years, making it their home while raising their family. Both are involved in the community in many ways through volunteering for local charities, coaching sports, and giving back to others.
Tracy and Alex have diversified backgrounds. Tracy studied hotel restaurant management in Colorado and received her AOS in culinary arts from the Culinary Institute of America. Tracy recently graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from The New York School of Interior Design. Alex studied history at Harvard and then captained fishing vessel based out of Fairhaven, Massachusetts, but now works in the corporate world.
The Inn at Orient is the second historic home that Tracy and Alex have restored. Their first was purchased by the couple in 1997 and was a historic 1894 Victorian home in the Town of Southold originally built by one of the first female photographers in the United States, Henrietta Payne.
Their dream to move to Orient was put on hold for many years until their children went all off to college which gave them the opportunity to move to Orient and start again. The combination of their many skills will make this house, historically correct but modern at the same time. We look forward to sharing it with you soon.
